Alexa Montgomery
Lead Veterinary Surgeon
BSAVA PGCert SAM MRCVSAlexa joined the team in 2015 after five years working as a small animal vet in Shropshire. She has a certificate in small animal medicine and works mainly at our Grappenhall surgery, although you may also see her helping at our other branches from time to time. Outside of work she is kept busy with her two young children, and rescue pets Dot and Poppy.

Hannah Challinor
Senior Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVSHannah qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2014 and began her career in a mixed practice in North Wales. She started working for Maple Vets as a locum in 2018 and officially joined the team in 2020. When she is not working, she can often be found hiking up a hill with her mischievous Jack Russell terrier, Wendy.

Registered Veterinary Nurse
NurseKath has been nursing for a long time and joined the Maple Vets team in 2022. Her main interests are geriatric patients, nurse clinics and anaesthesia, but she loves all aspects of her role. She has a geriatric rescue Staffie called Dilly, a terrapin called Travis, two land snails called Derek and Desmond and a few fish.

Lydia Whitfield
Student Veterinary Nurse
NurseLydia loves all animals, big and small, and owns a jumping spider. She is currently a nursing assistant, but hopes to qualify as a nurse one day. She especially enjoys taking care of animals recovering from operations.

Rebecca Bramwell
Student Veterinary Nurse
NurseRebecca has been a qualified nursing assistant since 2013 and joined our team in 2015. She has a particular interest in grooming and enjoys dematting dogs and cats that come into the surgery. She has had many exotic pets in the past, such as rats, degus, gerbils, birds and rabbits, and currently has a rescue dog called Dallas and a cat called Mo Salah.

Rebecca Murphy

NurseRebecca has worked in many veterinary practices over the last decade and would love to specialise in surgical nursing in the future. She has lots of pets, including snails, tortoises, sheep and pigs, and enjoys farming and playing rugby in her spare time.

Rebecca Whitling
Student Veterinary Nurse
NurseRebecca, known to most as Little Beckie, has worked at Maple Vets since 2015. After visiting the practice during breaks from college, she went on to train as a veterinary care assistant. She lives with her boyfriend and five cats: Hunter, Willow, Harry, Wendy and Wilma. It’s definitely a full house!

Janie Clare
Practice Manager
Janie trained and qualified as a nurse at a mixed practice in Cheshire, and has been the practice manager of Rutland House Vets and its associated branches for many years. Now a member of the Maple Vets team, she loves looking after all 10 of our practices! She has two border terriers and a lurcher, and is an athletics coach in her spare time.

Rachel Beswick
Financial Administrator
Rachael is the practice’s financial administrator and has been with Maple for many years, seven of which were spent as a receptionist at our Penketh branch. She has a miniature schnauzer called Louie, who she enjoys walking and taking on family adventures, and a house cat called Aurora who Louie loves to chase!
