Attention all rabbit owners - Myxomatosis outbreak in Warrington

Myxomatosis is caused by a virus that is spread by biting vectors such as fleas.  Clinical signs appear very quickly and progress rapidly.  They include a swollen head and face (particularly puffy swellings around the eyes) and swollen genitalia.  Rabbits are very poorly in themselves.  Unfortunately the disease can not be cured, and most rabbits have to be euthanased on humane grounds.

The disease is preventable with an effective and licensed vaccine.  Please phone any of our branches for more details.
